Band Members

One More Time is made up of a group of trained musicians that have many years of experience. If you are from the Dayton, Ohio area, you certainly will recognize some of the musicians playing or singing in this group, from having seen them in area concert bands, combos, other swing bands, quartets, polka bands, as soloists, or in their churches playing a multitude of different instruments. Every musician playing for One More Time enjoys music and performing which is evident when you hear them play.

Jean Ann SmithJean Ann

Jean Ann plays trumpet, is the manager of the band, does the announcing for the band, and schedules the bookings for the band. She was a soloist in her high school band, went on to become a member of the UC Bearcat Marching and Pep Bands and never lost her love for playing the trumpet when she took a break from music to raise a family. A few years back, she and a few friends formed “One More Time” and now her days are occupied managing and booking the band. Besides “One More Time”, she currently plays in several other bands in the area and loves to do musicals. She says swing music is her favorite and if you can find a swing tune with a county flavor or a country song with a swing arrangement, she really loves it! (She is also blessed to have a son-in-law who designs great web pages! Check out his web site listed here.)  back to top

Dan ArrasmithDan Arrasmith

Dan plays every size sax that was ever made for man. From Soprano to Tenor to Bass Saxaphone - he plays them all. He is a member of many groups ranging from quartets to swing bands, polka bands, and concert bands. Recently moving to the Columbus area hasn’t limited his playing in the Dayton area, it has expanded his resume to include groups in Franklin Co. We are glad Dan continues to make the drive from Plain City to Dayton for One More Time. back to top

Mike DilboneMike Dilbone

Mike comes to us from Sidney where he has played a “mean” trumpet in many dance bands over the years since his high school days and is indisputably one of the best soloists in the Dayton area. You may see him playing in the pit in musicals, in church praise bands, in civic bands, or you may think you see him playing trombone in the same locations. However, the trombone playing is left up to his equally talented twin brother, Mitch. What a plus for One More Time, to have Mike join our band and share his love of music and those ad lib trumpet solos that never cease to entertain.  back to top

Alan SchmidlappAlan Schmidlapp

What did you do to earn money to pay your way thru college? Alan had the perfect job! The Disneyland of Ohio, formerly known as Kings Island, was home for Alan during the summer as he and his Miami University buddies performed in a Dixieland group entertaining thousands of people at the amusement park. It is evident that Alan was a music major in college when you hear him play “Let’s Dance” or “Begin the Beguine” on his clarinet. Alan was a high school band director for a number of years and is proud to say that one of his top students is now the conductor of the New York Pops Orchestra! Not only does Alan shine on clarinet, but he is equally gifted on the Alto Sax and is a great addition to “One More Time”.  back to top

Stewart KingStewart King

Stewart King is a graduate of Capital University in Columbus Ohio and Ohio University in Athens. After graduation, he was a Woodwind Instructor at the U.S. Naval School of Music in Washington D.C., then moved back to Ohio where he became a Band Director and School Administrator in the Tipp City Exempted Village School System. Now retired, he presently is an Adjudicator of Woodwinds and Bands for the OMEA, a private teacher in the Troy area and performs in several civic bands and area dance bands. Benny Goodman may have been known as the King of Swing, but when you hear Stu play the clarinet or sax, you’ll agree… the REAL King is Stewart King!!!  back to top

Cheryl WennerCheryl Wenner

Every band needs a perfectionist. Cheryl is just that. She insists that we practice a piece at least one more time until we have all mastered the rhythm and can play it together perfectly. She has a great ear for music and is a very talented musician not only as a sax, flute, and trumpet player, but has also learned the art of playing hand bells in her church choir. Now, when Cheryl gives up those OSU season football tickets, then we’ll be the winner with Wenner in the band rather than in the stands on Saturdays in the fall.  back to top

Randy HerronRandy Herron

As Randy Herron readies himself for retirement from banking, One More Time reaps the benefits of his newly acquired free time as he fills the position as our lead trombonist. Music has been a big part of his life from his high school days to college at Ohio University in Athens, to performing in area civic bands and managing and performing in other dance bands and small groups in the Miami County area. If Randy is not playing his trombone, on weekends, he and his wife may be found in Hocking Hills where they are remodeling a house which will become their retirement home. We hope this remodeling project will take them several more years so we can keep Randy playing in the One More Time band. Otherwise, maybe he can find us some good gigs in Hocking County!! back to top

Audrey WrightAudrey Wright(also Vocalist)

If you have seen Audrey perform, you would guess that her 2 years at Bowling Green State University and her degree from Wright State University would have been in the study of music. However, her degree was not in music, but in Sociology. Performing all over the Dayton area, she is no stranger to the stage. This very busy multi-talented musician performs as a vocalist and a trombonist all around Dayton with various swing bands, jazz groups, polka bands, and as a pianist at the Rotary each week in Fairborn. She not only adds her experience as one of the area’s top vocalists, but adds her talent as a trombonist to our band called “One More Time”. She is proud that her two sons and grandchildren all playing trombone, trumpet, or baritone, are following in her footsteps as they carry on her passion for music.  back to top

Andy HiteAndy Hite

Although Andy says he never dotted the “i”, (he was never thrown in the river either), he had some great times as an outstanding bass player during the 70’s, in the “Best Damn Band in the Land” that you all know as The Ohio State University Marching Band. Andy hasn’t limited himself to only playing for high profile football games. He has played in over 65 musicals since graduating from OSU and now plays in other concert bands, brass groups, and musicals. Andy says he also loves polkas - especially if there is a sufficient supply of beer on hand!  back to top

Dick RayDick Ray

Dick Ray, residing in Tipp City, is one of the busiest trumpet players in the Dayton area. You may see this versatile player performing in several of the top Civic Bands, Brass Bands, several Swing Bands, at churches, or managing and playing in a very popular German Band out of Dayton. He is always playing somewhere! He brought his suitcase full of pizzazz to "One More Time" when he joined our group in 2011. It's a mystery how he finds time for all of his music and still has time to follow his beloved University of Iowa Hawkeyes. back to top

Tom BennerTom Benner

Tom Benner who lives in Fairborn, is no stranger to music lovers in the Dayton area. He knows or has played with about every musician you can name. He has been known to take his clarinet with him on vacation and joins in playing with groups aboard cruises! This 21 year veteran of the Air Force Band, has his own band, and now enjoys playing in many different groups as well as "One More Time". Tom plays all styles of music on any of the reed instruments and don't be surprised if you hear him sing, too! back to top

Bob ClemmonsBob Clemmons

Bob Clemmons is a sensational drummer who easily made the transition from Rock N Roll to Swing Music. Bob played many a gig in a group called The Nomads back in the ‘60’s, but he is not limited to Rock N Roll and Swing as he plays in other bands in the area including civic bands and German bands. He is a great musician expanding his talent to include the violin! We welcome Bob aboard “One More Time”! back to top

We simply want to have fun and entertain our audiences.

We want you to have us back one more time – at least!
